The Murcia Bar Association will change its name and will be renamed the Murcia Bar Association. This was agreed at the extraordinary general assembly held this Wednesday to approve the reform of the collegiate statutes.
The dean, Francisco Martínez-Escribano, pointed out that “the objective is for the new name to be more inclusive and inclusive and to prevent the use of language from contributing to the discrimination and invisibility of women in our profession.”
Currently, the number of women registered in the institution amounts to 2030, which represents 45.16% of the census. During the assembly, it was also agreed to create two bodies: the electoral board, to guarantee the voting process; and the guarantee board, whose purpose is to establish a second instance in the Region.
Once this reform has been approved in the assembly to adapt to the new General Statute of the Spanish Lawyers, the new statutes will be transferred to the General Council for endorsement, as well as to the Community, as regulator of the professional associations of the Region of Murcia and its subsequent publication in the Official Gazette of the Region.
