The story of Harmony 10
The so-called ‘University of Cumbia’ was founded in May 1972 by Juan de Dios Lozada Naquiche. Their name refers to the original 10 members. However, 10 years had to pass, so that, in 1982, they recorded their first album “Enfermera”, their success consolidated them as one of the best orchestras in all of northern Peru and part of Ecuador.
His second album, “El Chinchorro”, was recorded three years later, in 1985. From this production came his hits “Ladrón de Amor”, “I’m just drinking”, “Llorando se fue” and “El cervecero”.

What singers has Armonía 10 had?
With 20 albums to its credit, Armonía 10 housed in its ranks great singers such as ‘Makuko Gallardo’, whose original name was Alberto Gallardo Juárez, and Percy Chapoñay, who died in 2005 and 2016, respectively.
Tony Rosado, Carlos Soraluz, among others, were also part of the orchestra currently directed by Walter Lozada, a musician whose health is currently compromised and for whom a prayer chain was requested.
