Four people were injured when a knife-wielding man stabbed them at a major hospital in Shanghai on Saturday morning, before police shot and immobilized him.
And the Chinese newspaper, “South China Morning Post,” reported that the Huangpu District Police received emergency reports at 11:30 this morning, local time, about a stabbing incident in the famous “Ruijin” Hospital.
“The police quickly arrived at the scene and found a man who was holding a group of people hostage with a knife, on the seventh floor of the hospital,” the police force said in a statement on social media.
And the police force continued, “When the suspect began assaulting the hostages and attacking the police, the policemen fired a bullet at him, injuring and immobilizing him.”
The police force statement added that four people are receiving treatment for their injuries, and their condition is not serious.
The attacker’s motive is not yet clear.
