The Governing Board yesterday approved the ‘Vulnerable Groups’ project and the request for a subsidy of 600,000 euros within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union (‘Next Generation’). The objectives of this program are to improve job placement, the acquisition of skills and the socio-labour situation of groups with greater difficulties in accessing the labor market and to integrate the gender perspective and the specific needs of women in the development of actions. The number of beneficiaries is one hundred and it is estimated that more than half will be women. The initiative includes support measures to facilitate the incorporation and maintenance of the recipients, such as benefits for displacement and conciliation, care services for minors and dependent persons, and accompaniment.
Another of the agreements adopted by the municipal executive was to give the green light to the sewing training program in the districts of La Alberca, Torreagüera and Sucina, for a total of 12,396 euros. The majority of participants in this employment improvement program (30 in total, 10 in each district) are women from vulnerable groups with difficulties in reconciling work and family life.
The program is geared towards both paid employment and self-employment (self-employment and entrepreneurship) since it is a job that can be done at home and/or part-time. The participants will start in pattern making and will learn to make alterations and adaptations of garments.

The Department of Culture proposed, and were approved, several agreements and grants with groups and associations of the municipality. One of them was the annual aid of 6,000 euros for the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Rosary of Santa Cruz, to develop its work of fostering and promoting Murcian folklore, materialized in the bells of auroros. The Pupaclown scenic center will carry out this year more than a hundred activities related to the performing arts, which are expected to be attended by nearly 19,000 people. To do this, the City Council renewed its commitment to the foundation and the direct grant of 20,000 euros.
A third agreement has the Salzillo Museum as the protagonist, which will receive 27,000 euros for exhibitions, educational workshops, improvements in the virtualization of the museum and the dissemination, conservation and documentation of the collection it houses. Finally, the executive approved the agreement with the Cepaim Foundation to co-organize and celebrate the VII edition of the Beniaján Microacciona Festival, whose purpose is to promote a model of inclusive and intercultural society.
