The democratization of the politics of the 20th century, allows to open the doors to the common citizen to know what happens in the internal life of the political parties?. Above all, because these entities enjoy a public budget, money that honestly and with the sweat of their brow, ordinary citizens outside the exercise of power -but not politics- pay the government so that it later deposits it in the accounts of parties large amounts for their internal exercise.
Although it is true, the destination of the money is very clear; internal training, staff training, administration payments and other services. It is not really known if this citizen investment in these parties fulfills its destiny or figures are made up and expenses checked and used for something else, this is because little is seen of the training that politicians have and worse still, little is also observed trained in the institutes that reach citizens with options and offers for a better direction of the state.
In the particular case of the PRI Sinaloa, it is not the exception, neither political training nor much less, new cadres, as I began at the beginning of this reflection, the democratization of politics, allows the common citizenry to notice and reflect on it together with the militancy. The commentocracy on the ranks of the PRI, always deals with the lack of new cadres and politicians more and better prepared.
But then, what if that is what happens in the PRI Sinaloa? Well, what does happen is that the narratives that are in conflict internally at the national level, also have an echo in our state.
On the one hand, there are those who blindly support the one-man decisions of the National Leader, Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, and who have no qualms about defending him. Why? because if. Because they are sectoral leaders, out of friendship, out of commitment, out of the hope of a blessing from the highest PRI leader or because it is his last card to play. For them, the national leader comes first, before the party. This is how they describe their loyalty: to Alito.
On the other hand, there are those who defend the democratic life of the party, beyond the leader, why? because yes too. Because they have no relationship with Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, because they feel annoyed with the poor results of the top national leader, perhaps because they are dreamers and believe in internal democracy and feel tired of being fingered or because they simply chose a side other than that of the dome of power For them, PRI acronyms come first before a particular person. This is how they describe their loyalty: to the PRI.
And there is another group, a more interesting one, the one that bets on the intertwining of ideas, on respect for the national leadership, yes, but also on consensus and the democratic participation of all voices. To publicly show the experience that the PRI has and the strength that characterizes them, but also to publicly acknowledge the mistakes made by some and their omissions, who call for respect, maturity, political talent that is measured in the ability to agree on each other, and to reject irreducible positions that only harm the party. For them, unity comes first before anything else. This is how they qualify their loyalty, to the unit.
This phenomenology, I insist, is seen in the light of day and in the dark of night thanks to the opening of the internal life of political parties. This is what the PRI looks like. Just as we can know what they spend their budget on, it is easy to see how these internal tribes regroup and give rise to different narratives in the same political institution.
It would then be necessary to bet on a “sociological accommodation” that allows grouping these relationships and groups in order to avoid or reduce conflicts and favor reciprocally interests, stop betting on arbitration and add concepts such as commitment, unilateral vision, conciliation of ideas, the conversion of groups, tolerance and to a lesser extent but useful for this party in question, subordination – in other words – the democratization of the political line, yes, where everyone is included, including the former national leaders, and also former state leaders, by the way.
And incidentally, these seem to be the most consistent with the vicissitudes that this party is going through in Sinaloa.
See you next time.
