The Russian military announced today, Sunday, that it destroyed a command center of the Ukrainian armed forces in a missile attack, killing “more than 50” senior officers.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said there were generals among the dead.
The targeted command post is located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, near Shiroka Dacha.
Konashenkov added that a larger Ukrainian unit was bombed in the Donetsk region with missiles, killing about 300 Ukrainians.
Russia said on Sunday its offensive in eastern Ukraine was moving forward and that it had captured a district on the outskirts of the city of Severodonetsk.
“The offensive in the direction of Severodonetsk is developing successfully,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a video statement. He added that the forces took control of the “Mytiolkin” neighborhood on the eastern outskirts of the city.
