It would be a kind of ‘team building’ event of a company that should have been under supervision
At least 25 people have been injured this Tuesday at a private party held in the Swiss city of Zurich after they walked on incandescent coals as part of a ritual, according to local authorities.
Of the total number of injured people, 13 of them have had to be transferred to a hospital with serious injuries. In addition, the pain from the burns did not occur immediately, but with a delay, ‘Tages Anzeiger’ has reported.
Around 6:00 p.m. (local time), the Zürich Protection and Rescue operations center received a call reporting that several people had suffered severe burns after walking on hot coals. Due to the high number of injured, the health authorities have mobilized ten ambulances, a large rescue vehicle and two emergency medical teams.
The Zurich Police did not want to comment on the incident, but according to the aforementioned newspaper, it would be a kind of ‘team building’ event of a company that should have been under supervision.
