Let’s clarify one thing immediately: on the long distance the Suzuki Hayabusa would have no chance against one Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. Yet in a drag race, with a distance of a quarter of a mile, the extreme two-wheeler of the Japanese brand was able to put the fairing in front of the sleek nose of the del Toro supercar. The racing car from Sant’Agata Bolognese and a third-generation specimen of the Suzuki GSX1300RR Hayabusa have recently challenged each other, thus showing how the Japanese brand’s bike can have its say thanks to an obviously reduced weight and one of the most aggressive engines in the category. .
To push Suzuki’s two-wheeler in fact, there is a 1,340 cc aspirated in-line four-cylinder engine that produces an overall total of 190 hp at 9,700 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Numbers that allow unique performances for a motorcycle, with the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h which is consumed in less than 3 seconds and the quarter mile covered in less than 10 seconds. It is clear that these are monstrous data for a two-wheeler but in any case inferior when compared to the performance and specifications of the Lamborghini Aventador SJV: the Italian supercar is powered by a 60 ° V12 capable of delivering a power of 770 CV at 8 500 rpm and a maximum torque of 720 Nm at 6 750 rpm for a 0-100 km / h sprint in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of over 350 km / h.
In these cases, however, a lot depends on the rider’s abilities, as also demonstrated by the tests that saw the Suzuki and the Lambo against each other: despite the launch of the fireball from Sant’Agata Bolognese, it was always the Japanese bike that crossed the finish line first, thanks also to the much lower weight than the supercar. In particular, in the first round, Hayabusa finished the race by crossing the line in 10.4 seconds compared to 10.7 seconds for the Italian jewel.
