Accident a Rome for the train Red Arrow high speed of the Turin-Naples line near the Serenissima gallery. According to reports from Fire fighters the last carriage of the convoy number 9311it derailed and hit the gallery wall.
The accident occurred after the train Frecciarossa 9311 it had started again from Termini Station towards Naples, just before 14.25 on Friday 3 June 2022.
This is the second train accident involving High Speed in the space of a few years. The February 6, 2020a Frecciarossa is derailed Livagra in the municipality of Lodi, causing the death of the two drivers.
Frecciarossa accident in Rome, what happened
The train Red Arrow departed from Turin at 8.50 and headed to Naples after having left at 13.59 from Termini Station from Rome was involved in an accident at the height of Serenissima gallery which connects the Prenestina station at the Serenissima.
It is an artificial tunnel built in 2005 that houses the Rome – Naples highways.

According to an initial reconstruction it was the last carriage on locomotive tail to hit the inside of the tunnel.
The train was supposed to arrive in Naples at 03.03. The railway accident caused slowdowns across the railway line, with high-speed trains being diverted on alternative lines.
Frecciarossa accident, the cause
The cause of the Frecciarossa accident is probably due to a technical problem that caused the derailment of the tail locomotive off the rails following a abnormal swaying of the train, inside the tunnel. The locomotive crashed into the tunnel entrance Serenissima.
The line remained blocked to allow technicians to remove debris.
THE 219 passengers on board they reported no physical consequences and were evacuated.
