Cali, finalist of the Women’s League by eliminating Santa Fe

The sugar companies will now face America, in search of the title.

Deportivo Cali qualified for the final of the women’s league after beating Santa Fe on penalties, in El Campín, after a 1-1 scoreline in 90 minutes.

The lionesses went up on the scoreboard with a score by Kena Romero, at minute 30, after a bad rejection by the visiting players. Kena took advantage of a center and scored with a header.

Ramírez’s team tried during the first half with an inspired Nelly Córdoba, but goalkeeper Stefany Castaño was decisive in preventing more goals against.

Cali grew up

In the complement and with the passing of the minutes, the sugar bowls gained greater prominence and it was until the 85th minute, after a couple of interventions by Yessica Velásquez, that the equalizer came.

Linda Caicedo and Ingrid Guerra came together to break the defense. Ingrid was in charge of scoring the 1-1which with a global 2-2 defined everything in the penalty shootout.

Goalkeeper Stefany Castaño, who stopped two charges (from captain Gabriela Huerta and Kena Romero), was key in the definition.

In the end, Ortíz’s team silenced El Campín with a 2-4 scoreline. Goals by Carolina Arias, Jorelyn Carabalí, Ingrid Guerra and Linda Caicedo, to become the second finalists. Cali will play the final against America.
