Sakari Oramon The jury, chaired by the jury, selected the finalists for the international Jean Sibelius Violin Competition on Wednesday night after three full-day semi-finals.
Six violinists reached the finals. They are:

Ukraine won the Eurovision Song Contest and would now have the opportunity to win two prizes in the Sibelius Violin Competition. At the same time, the competition offers the finalist duo the opportunity to take comfort in the music while the country is under attack in Russia.
“I am studying in Essen, Germany and last time I was in Lviv, Ukraine in January with the Lviv Philharmonic. But the whole situation is a shock and it’s hard to believe the truth, I haven’t been able to go home to Kharkov in six months, but my father still lives there. Dmytro Udovichenko tells HS. He was considered a pretty sure finalist. It’s an interesting musician personality.
“I am studying in Singapore and I haven’t gotten to Ukraine in two and a half years. Fortunately, at the beginning of the major attack, my family first got to our cottage in the countryside and then fled to Poland, ”says Georgii Moroz.
There were three Finnish competitors this time, and it was the best until the semi-finals Kasmir Uusitupa.

“It’s nothing, everything has been fantastic except that I haven’t had time to get to know other competitors. Now that is also possible and I hope to have time to visit Ainola as well, ”he says.
Final will be held from Friday to Sunday, May 27-29 at 6:30 p.m. from the Music Hall, at Mannerheimintie 13 A.
Each finalist will play the Sibelius Violin Concerto as well as another concerto from the given selection. The Helsinki City Orchestra (HKO) conducts Anna-Maria Helsing and Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO) Dima Slobodeniouk.
