The re-elected president has been hit by “projectiles” according to his security members, which have turned out to be cherry tomatoes
His re-election as president seems not to have calmed the spirits of the citizen protests against him. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has been attacked with tomatoes during a visit to a market in the town of Cergy, where he has defended that he will take into account the interests of the most disadvantaged classes in his new mandate.
Macron has taken advantage of his visit to a popular neighborhood of Cergy to defend his closeness to citizens, but the tour was interrupted by the launch of “projectiles” -in the words of his security team- that turned out to be cherry tomatoes, according to the BFMTV network.
The bodyguards have opened an umbrella to cover the president, in a few moments of confusion that ended in any case without damage to all the people present.
“I want to be in the popular neighborhoods throughout the mandate,” said Macron, who on Sunday won the far-right leader Marine Le Pen in the second round of the presidential elections. Thus, he has promised to respond to the “anger” on the part of the citizens who leaned towards his rival.

The president has also sketched during his visit to this city in the Valle d’Oise department the robot portrait of his future prime minister, without revealing names yet. He wants a person at the head of the Government “united with the social, environmental and productive issue.”
