During a call with investors, CD Projekt revealed that to unearth the IP’s next game The Witcher theUnreal Engine 5, the miraculous graphics engine from Epic Games; a move that would retire the aging RED Engine.
The CEO Adam Kici & nacute; ski answered a question about how much development would speed up using this engine: production would go “smoother,” but not necessarily faster according to the executive director.
According to the Polish developers, the UE5 can easily manage open worlds, to the point that it could even be better than other graphics engines, but in this perspective it must also be considered that there are many more developers who know the Unreal Engine than employees who have worked with RED, and therefore the possibility of further expanding the teams by hiring talents who already know the new engine.
In all this, it would be an understatement to say that the new chapter of The Witcher has just entered pre-production, so we will have to wait for developments and hope to have regular news on the progress of the project.
