Cyberpunk 2077 still takes up most of the development time of CD Projekt RED, according to a recent company presentation. A graphic that was shown as part of the meeting reveals that the vast majority of CDPR developers are working on the upcoming expansion of Cyberpunk, with a smaller team set aside for continued support for the game through patches and hotfixes.
This far surpasses the team working on the next game in the series The Witcher. Even following the official reveal of the game in March, the group busy on the next chapter is smaller, suggesting that it will take some time before we take a good look at the game.
CD Projekt Red made this clear after the presentation went public, as the original graphics instead stated that most of the developers were working on the next The Witcher game. The studio was quick to explain that this is not the case and most of its staff are still working on the next expansion of Cyberpunk 2077.
Unfortunately, there was an error in the legend to the chart which presented our team allocation in FY2021 presentation. Obviously – as was said during the call – the biggest part of our team is currently working on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. Go to: https://t.co/Ut4Fu6MSOk

However, Cyberpunk 2077 fans will have to wait a while longer, as the expansion is expected to arrive next year.
