After the two days of testing in Jerez last week, the Formula 3 teams and drivers are back on track today at the Barcelona track for a new practice session and Gregoire Saucy has won at the top of the timesheets.
The 2021 champion of the Formula Regional European, at the wheel of a single-seater of the ART Grand Prix team, set the time of 1’32”247 in the morning managing to precede the poleman of Bahrain Franco Colapinto by just 155 thousandths.
The Argentine of Van Amersfoort Racing, however, prevented the ART Grand Prix team from hitting a brace ahead of Victor Martins. The Frenchman, in fact, obtained the third time in 1’32 ” 491 placing himself in front of the Trident duo made up of Zane Maloney and Roman Stanek.
He surprised Kush Maini who was able to finish in sixth position in 1’32 ” 710 ahead of the first Jenzer Motorsport car entrusted to William Alatalo.
The top ten was completed with David Vidales author of the eighth time in 1’32 ” 882 in front of Alexander Smolyar and our Matteo Nannini, for the occasion at the wheel of a car of the ART Grand Prix team to replace the unavailable Correa.
Higher times in the afternoon where the two MP Motorsport cars headed by Alexander Smolyar and Caio Collet stood out. The Russian finished with a time of 1’33 ” 342, preceding his teammate by 297 thousandths, while Roman Stanek suffered a net delay of 3 tenths from the top ahead of Kush Maini and Gregoire Saucy.
In the afternoon all three riders of the Prema team managed to enter the top ten with Arthur Leclerc author of the seventh reference in 1’34 ” 067, Jak Crawford of the eighth and Oliver Bearman of the tenth time in 1’34 ” 314 .
Tomorrow will be repeated for the last day of testing which will start at 9 am and end at 4 pm.
