Yesterday, a Yemeni human rights organization called on the Houthi group to release a journalist detained in the capital, Sanaa.
“We condemn the Houthi group’s kidnapping of journalist Nadia Moqbel from a street in Sanaa on March 28, while she was doing her journalistic work,” the National Organization for Yemeni Journalists, “Sada,” said in a statement. The statement stated that “the organization obtained information that the journalist disappeared, and contact with her was cut off after she made a report on the eruption of food prices before Ramadan.” The statement indicated that “the journalist’s family found her at a later time in Haziz Police Station in Sana’a, who confirmed that she had been kept until investigations were completed.” The organization held the “Al-Houthi” group fully responsible for the safety and life of the journalist, calling for her immediate and unconditional release.
