Sensational was Paris-Nice for Colombians Daniel Martínez and Nairo Quintanawho finished third and fifth overall in the test, dominated by Primoz Roglic, after the final stage of 115 kilometers won by Simon Yates, who put him on the ropes on the final day
The truth is that it was an excellent presentation by Daniel and Nairo, who fought for their goals and achieved them, knowing that it was difficult to beat Roglic who ‘took revenge’ last year when he lost the title in the final stage.

many attacks
49 kilometers from the finish line, Ineos proposed a stronger job in the lot, trying to put their rivals in trouble, the same leader, Primoz Roglic, who held command for most of the track.
Meters later, Martínez launched the attack, which damaged the main group, so much so that only Roglic and Wout van Aert held the pace, no one else.
Nairo Quintana managed to make it to the small group, which was made up of Martínez, Simon Yates, Van Aert and Nairo, who set the pace from then on. Brandon McNulty and Adam Yates tried to get there, but they had a hard time.
The absence of Yates in the group ahead and the presence of Nairo confirmed that the Colombian gained a place in the general classification and finished fourth, fulfilling the objective from the beginning of it to finish in the ‘Top’ five.
Daniel Prick
Van Aert was in charge of putting the pace and the difference between yachts and McNulty increased more and more. But 31 km from the finish, Martínez suffered a puncture, at a bad time.
That made me lose the option to go ahead and fight for the podium. With 26 km to go, the Colombian lost 44 seconds. They didn’t loosen up ahead, Van Aert kept making pace, alongside Roglic and Simon Yates.
Nairo, with the delay of Adam Yates, rose to fourth place and depended on Martínez’s future to continue rising.
Daniel made it to the big group and that was important because he could count on help to close the gap. On the first category climb, Nairo set the pace, something that hurt Van Aert, who tried to stay.
In the hardest part of the climb, Yates attacked and left. Roglic, Nairo, and Van Aert. Ramps up to 14 percent. The Belgian’s pace is impressive, he takes his leader and Quintana gives ground. Behind, Martínez is in charge of not wasting any more time and assumes the chase.
Daniel Martínez’s lot reached Nairo. The stage went to Simon Yates and the title to Roglic. The Colombians finished in third and fifth place, respectively, in an excellent competition.
