Atos, Dassault Systèmes, Orange, Renault Group, STMicroelectronics and Thales have officially started the engines of the Software République incubator, an open innovation ecosystem that will support a number of start-ups and their ideas for sustainable, safe and smart mobility. The launch was given at the Village by CA in Paris, in the presence of representatives of the founding members of the Software République, as well as the first startup group of the incubator.
This incubator has a dual purpose: to accelerate startup projects select and enhance the open innovation of the six members around three themes: energy, new mobility services and connected vehicles. Incubated for a period of six to 18 months, startups should build a project with at least two members of the Software République. In return, the members of the Software République will provide startups with their resources and a tailor-made support program. Wattpark, Geoflex and Vianova, winners of the first Mobility 4.0 Challenge, are joined by two other startups, Angoka and Parcoor, chosen by the incubator’s selection committee.
The tailor-made program is divided into five areas and provides access to 15,000 experts who will be able to provide technical skills, specialized resources, test skills and data assets, depending on the projects and needs; hosting support based on technical sites or target markets in ten locations (in eight countries); an on-demand tutoring program with orientation on market and competitive analysis, finance, business plan, human resources, pitches and presentations, UX / UI (user experience / user interface), based on needs and in collaboration with Village by CA ; independent legal advice through the support of a partner law firm on legal and tax issues and finally privileged access to the Software République ecosystem.
As for start-ups in detail, Angoka protects communications for smart cities and mobility through hardware-based solutions safeguard the integrity of critical machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and data provenance, creating reliable connections, regardless of the network. Geoflex instead, it is a service operator that improves GPS / GNSS applications to achieve safe and accurate positioning, up to four centimeters, on land, at sea and in the air. Geoflex provides universal hyper-location for trains, cars, ships, drones and smartphones, and also for last-mile delivery in smart cities.
Parcoor develops innovative integrated threat detection solutions that are implemented directly on devices. The solutions are based on a new approach that combines basic system data monitored in real time and state-of-the-art, lightweight, fast and explainable machine learning algorithms. This ensures built-in cybersecurity and self-contained, real-time detection of potential threats. Vianova is developing a road safety algorithm that will benefit both cities and drivers to identify and be notified in real time of dangerous road accidents or high-risk accidents in certain areas. Finally Wattpark is the “Airbnb of chargers”. It allows the owners of charging stations to share and rent them. It helps drivers locate a charging station, connect to it and pay easily, thus making the driving experience of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle stress-free.
