“The Russians targeted a crowd of people with Uragan rocket launchers, while civilians were getting water from a tanker. Eight residents were killed and 21 were taken to hospital,” the governor of Lugansk region, Sergey Gaidai, said on Telegram.
The city of Lysichansk is the next target for the Russian forces after they took full control of Severodonetsk, after battles that lasted for several weeks and destroyed the two cities and resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians.
Gaidai had previously announced last week that the battles are causing “catastrophic destruction” in Lysekhansk, which had a population of one hundred thousand people before the outbreak of the war.
