As the newspaper notes, the general salary fund for assistants to deputies and senators was proposed to be increased from 300 thousand rubles specified in the law (taking into account the indexation of 2020, this amount reached 322.3 thousand rubles) to 387 thousand rubles.
The bill is expected to enter into force on January 1, 2022. So, if it is adopted, in 2023 794.8 million rubles will be allocated for the salaries of assistants to deputies, in 2024 – 822.4 million rubles. The publication clarifies that each deputy and senator can have up to seven assistants, no more than two of them can work in parliament, and the rest in the region. The amount of payment for each assistant is set independently by parliamentarians.
The head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy, Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR), explained that the salary of assistants is now less than 30 thousand rubles. he said. Another source in the State Duma said that the deputies have fewer than seven legal assistants. At the same time, salaries, according to the interlocutor, are distributed as follows: about 180 thousand rubles for two Moscow workers and 40 thousand rubles for three regional workers.
On December 8, it was reported that a group of State Duma deputies from all factions submitted to parliament a bill to increase the salaries of their assistants by 20 percent. The explanatory note to the text of the document notes that after the amendments to the Constitution of Russia, the powers of deputies and senators were significantly expanded, and the requirements for its quality were increased.
