Brasília, 9 – The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) points out that more than half of the country's cargo transporters have not yet completed the Ordinary Revalidation of the National Registry of Road Cargo Transporters (RNTRC). The information is contained in a balance sheet sent to the Broadcast, Grupo Estado’s real-time news system. The process has been underway since March last year and will end between this month and March this year, depending on the category of transporter.
Of the approximately 1.33 million registered transporters, approximately 714 thousand have not yet updated their registration data and their vehicles. As explained by ANTT, the measure also aims to adapt to the requirements for registration and maintenance of records.
For the category of Road Cargo Transport Cooperatives (CTC), the deadline is the 21st of this month. For Road Cargo Transport Company (ETC), the limit is February 26th. For the Autonomous Cargo Carrier (TAC) category, the deadline is March 22nd.
The procedures for Ordinary Revalidation were regulated by SUROC Ordinance No. 220 of December 23, 2022. The update will not change the RNTRC status of the carrier which, if it complies with all requirements, will have its registration automatically revalidated, without the need no further action. However, if there are pending issues or non-conformities, it will be necessary to carry out “Ordinary Revalidation” in the RNTRC system to regularize the status.
Failure to update may result in an infraction provided for in Article 19 of Resolution No. 5,982, which provides for a fine of R$750.00. In the case of Remunerated Road Cargo Transporters (TRRC) without registration with the RNTRC or with pending, suspended or canceled registration, a fine of R$ 3,000.00 is foreseen for those who are hired or who carry out the transport of cargo by third parties, for remuneration .
