The “Department of Government Relations” in Sharjah, as part of the activities of “Sharjah Diplomatic Day” at the headquarters of the “Be’ah” group, hosted 71 diplomats from 55 countries, including 41 ambassadors and consuls to the United Arab Emirates, 30 diplomatic attaches and charge d’affaires, in addition to a number of economic and commercial advisors, department directors, and a group of Senior officials in Sharjah, including heads and directors of governmental, semi-governmental and private institutions. This came in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the aim of highlighting the opportunities offered by the Emirate of Sharjah in terms of cooperation, investment, tourism and fruitful partnerships in the environment and infrastructure sectors, in addition to presenting the emirate’s platforms, exhibitions and international conferences that enhance cooperation and civilized dialogue with the world in various fields. It includes cultures, arts, entrepreneurship and trade fairs.
The event included a discussion forum, during which ambassadors and representatives of brotherly and friendly countries were briefed on Sharjah’s efforts in the sectors of development, environment, infrastructure projects, investment and sustainability.
Connect countries of the world
During the forum, Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi highlighted the role that Sharjah plays as a diplomatic gateway for the countries of the world to communicate, pointing out that the UAE chose this year as the “Year of Sustainability” to emphasize the need to take care of the environment, motivate the public to adopt environmentally friendly options and practices, and encourage innovation and investment in sustainability solutions.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi referred to the importance of the COP28 climate summit hosted by the United Arab Emirates, stressing that it is an indication of the state’s commitment to giving priority to environmental issues, explaining the importance of taking into account economic, social and environmental factors, describing them as the triple pillars of success in government work to achieve honorable achievements in efforts to protect the earth. and to provide an environment in which everyone enjoys health and well-being.
