The Traffic and Patrols Department of the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command has called on the public wishing to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere on the top of Jebel Jais to follow a number of tips and requirements necessary to achieve safety for all.
The highest peak of Jebel Jais, which is 1934 meters high, recorded the lowest temperature of 3.4 degrees Celsius in the past two days, making it a destination for many Arab and foreign citizens, residents and tourists.
Brigadier Ahmad Al Samm Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department in Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that with the onset of winter and the rains, many members of the community are heading to the various tourist sites available in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the most important of which is the summit of Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the country.
He stated that the summit of Jebel Jais and the natural tourism components that are available through this unique site make it an important destination for all segments of society, especially with the noticeable decrease in temperatures, rainfall, and the descent of valleys. They have a tourist experience according to the highest levels of security and safety.
He pointed out that there are 7 tips that everyone must follow to maintain their safety while on this tourist site. The first of these tips is to drive in a safe manner on the various paths leading to the top of the mountain.
He stated that the second advice: Avoid high speeds that may result in various accidents in the event of losing control of the vehicle while driving, and exceeding the speed limits established on the lanes.
The third and fourth are not to commit violations on this site, and not to be reckless to achieve the highest levels of safety for all.
He pointed out that the fifth advice is the importance of parents’ supervision of their young children when taking them to this site, specifically at the places where valleys, water courses and deep mountain slopes descend, to prevent them from being exposed to various mountain accidents.
He stated that the last sixth and seventh advice is to preserve the natural life present on the top of this mountain and to comply fully with the instructions and warnings issued by the concerned authorities regarding updates on the weather situation.
He stressed that Ras Al Khaimah Police, in cooperation with various authorities operating in the emirate, seeks to spread the required awareness when visiting important tourist sites that are witnessing a remarkable turnout by various segments of society, including Jabal Jais, where awareness brochures are distributed related to the requirements for heading to the mountain site with the aim of spreading Awareness and enjoyment of a tourist trip that includes various means of security and safety.
