The report indicated that the Golden Residency Program was introduced by the UAE government, with the aim of providing long-term residency permits that give its holder the opportunity to reside in the country without the need for a guarantor within the country. The digital government has identified seven exclusive benefits enjoyed by the golden residency holder, including a six-month multiple-entry visa to complete the golden residency procedures, and a five- or 10-year renewable residency visa. The Digital Government report stated that the requirements for a golden residency visa depend on the category the applicant falls under, whether he is within the category of investors, talents, or entrepreneurs.
He explained that for anyone who invests in a public investment fund, he is eligible to obtain a golden residence visa for a period of 10 years without a guarantor, on the conditions of bringing a letter from an approved investment fund in the country stating the presence of a deposit of two million dirhams, and bringing a valid commercial or industrial license, along with a contract. Establishing the company, which indicates that the share of capital invested in it is not less than two million dirhams, in addition to bringing a letter from the Federal Tax Authority stating that he is an owner or partner in an establishment that pays tax to the government, and that his share contribution to the tax is not less than 250 thousand dirhams annually. He must also fully own the capital, so that it is not a loan, in addition to providing proof of the existence of health insurance for the visa applicant and his family, if any. According to the report, for those who own a property or a group of properties, they may obtain a golden residence visa for a period of five years, renewable under the same conditions and without the need for a guarantor, after meeting the requirements.
A five-year golden residence visa can be obtained if the person is an entrepreneur and owns an economic project of a technical or future nature that relies on risks and innovation.
Those with rare talents and specializations can also obtain golden residency, and this category includes doctors, scientists, creative people of culture and art, inventors, executives, specialists in priority scientific fields, athletes, holders of doctoral degrees, and other people with specializations. Eligible categories also include specialists in the fields of engineering and science, outstanding students, high school students, UAE university students, foreign university students, humanitarian pioneers, and workers on the first line of defence.

The digital government stated that the comprehensive “one-touch” golden residency service has been launched, to make it easier for customers to submit and renew golden residency applications with ease, and to save their time and effort.
She pointed out that the comprehensive service for golden residency aims to shorten and unify distances, through integrated packages for completing the application for candidacy for golden residency, issuing a visa, settling the situation, and issuing residency and identity, with the possibility of renewing them in just one step.
