Amidst a heavy security spread and strict security measures, demonstrations took place in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and a number of other states, yesterday, called by the resistance committees, the forces of freedom and change, and Sudanese parties and unions, on the third anniversary of the demonstrations of June 30, 2019, which led to the partnership agreement between civilians and military, which ended with the procedures Taken by the army on the twenty-fifth of October last.
The demonstrations calling for the handover of power to civilians coincide with the thirty-third anniversary of the coup of former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, which opened the door to Islamist rule over Sudan for 30 years.
The Central Committee of Sudan Doctors announced that 4 protesters were killed by security forces’ bullets in the Omdurman protests, a fifth fell in Omdurman, and a sixth in Khartoum North, in addition to cases of suffocation from tear gas in Khartoum. A fifteen-year-old boy was killed in Demonstration on the eve of protests in North Khartoum.
The Sudanese authorities cut off Internet services, for the first time in months, and completely cut off telephone communications, including internal communications and text messaging services.
The Sudanese security forces closed all bridges linking the Sudanese capital with the exception of the Soba and Halfaya bridges. The security forces also closed the roads leading to the army general command with large concrete blocks, and arrested a number of resistance leaders.
