Well, all the fish are starting to be sold. Yesterday two new regattas and two new victories for New Zealand against England. The Kiwis are one victory away from retaining the Hundred Guineas Jug in what is being a very easy America’s Cup for Grant Dalton’s team.
Yesterday’s two regattas were copied. Great strategy from New Zealand in the pre-start and unfounded nerves from England. The New Zealanders took to the regatta field to finish the job and, confident in themselves, achieved two new victories.
The ‘accident’ last Wednesday, when the English achieved two consecutive victories, did not cross their minds at any time. Just seeing them enter the starting box and immediately push the rival, already denoted the hunger they had for victory.
The English, somewhat self-conscious, took the New Zealand stern from the beginning of both races and, already in the first leg, the Kiwi advantage was more than 600 meters. With this scenario, only one mistake by New Zealand would have changed the outcome of the races.
Everything was a walk for New Zealand, and today, if the bad weather forecast allows it, more of the same will happen again and the ‘black magic’ will renew, for the third consecutive edition, their victory in the Copa América.
It is worth highlighting the number of fans who gathered in the village to cheer on both teams with banners. The die is cast.
