Nearly 490 people have participated since January in one of the thirty job placement projects of the local training and employment agency
More than half of the students of the Agency for Local Development and Employment (ADLE) of Cartagena has carried out internships this year during their job training thanks to the collaboration of businessmen from Cartagena. 53% of these participants have found a job within six months, as highlighted yesterday by the mayor, Noelia Arroyo, in an act of gratitude to the businesses and firms that collaborate with the City Council in its training programs.
The Local Agency for Local Development and Employment has focused this year on the job preparation of people who, due to age or training, have more difficulty finding a job. There have been 489 students, 40% of them women, who have participated in thirty professional insertion projects ranging from pre-training to mixed employment programmes.
“We work to accompany our students in all phases of the job search,” according to Arroyo, who added that they do so “from the design of the curriculum to the internship, and we also follow up after they are hired to verify that the job that they achieve is stable. In this cycle are “essential” Cartagena companies that contribute to this training.
In that meeting, the students of the Agency’s restoration courses served breakfast in a space decorated by their colleagues. It took place in the facilities of the Canteras youth hostel.
Arroyo and Councilor Irene Ruiz, responsible for Education and also for the ADLE, delivered the ‘Committed Company Certificate’ to those responsible for sixteen collaborating businesses that work with the agency in training programs for the unemployed. The mayor thanked her for her participation in the municipal objectives and recalled that the City Council is the first institution in Spain to have created an application to put companies in contact with job seekers.
Job Search Application
This application, called Yompleo, has exceeded two thousand adhered companies. Specifically, there are already 2,125. They become collaborators with the City Council from the moment they join this application in which there are nearly four thousand people looking for work or to improve their employment.
«In this work, the companies of Cartagena are essential. They help us train workers and we thank them for all the facilities they give us and together with them we try to give the best training to the employees they need, “said the mayor.
