- PM Modi handed over drinking water schemes worth Rs 5,555 crore to the people of Vindhyachal region
- He laid the foundation stone for Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts through video conferencing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone on Sunday morning through video conferencing ambitious schemes to provide drinking water to over 42 lakh villagers of Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts. The government estimates that these projects will be completed in two years.
The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh will start drinking water supply through pipes in 1606 villages of Mirzapur under the central government’s ‘Har Ghar Nal’ scheme. This scheme will directly benefit 21,87,980 villagers of Mirzapur. 1389 villages of Sonbhadra will also be started from the scheme. 19,53,458 families of these villages will join the drinking water supply scheme.
Cost in Mirzapur is Rs. 2343.20 crores
The government will spend Rs 3212.18 crore on this scheme in Sonbhadra. The water collected at the dam in Mirzapur will be purified and made potable and then supplied. The cost of the scheme has been fixed at Rs 2343.20 crore.
The plan will be completed within two years
According to officials, a total of 42 lakh people will be benefited from the schemes of both the districts. The total expenditure on the scheme is estimated at Rs 5,555.38 crore. According to officials of the Ministry of Water Power, the water supply will be started in the villages after completing the scheme within two years.
Yogis will go to Gopashtami program
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the program of Gopashtami at the Tada Fal Go shelter site in Mirzapur after the foundation stone of drinking water scheme. During this time he will also hand over the check of remuneration to the women who make school dress under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Yojana. The Chief Minister will visit Mata Vindhyavasini in Vindhyachal Dham on Sunday evening.
