The Santander City Council has awarded a total of 27 new daycare scholarships in the fifth committee held a few days ago for a value of 20,800 euros and which They have been approved this week at the Local Government Board.
This was announced this Sunday in a press release by the Councilor for Family and Equality, Zulema Gancedo, who explained that this shipment is added to the four previously approved, so From January to this month of October, 231 scholarships worth 270,782 euros and 1,013 months have been awarded.
As he recalled, the scholarships aim to facilitate the reconciliation of parents, ensuring adequate care for their children in daycare centers or nursery schools in the city during their training or work day.
For this 2024, the amount of the full scholarship with dining room service is 300 euros per month, without a dining room of 250 euros per month, while the average scholarship amount is 190 euros per month.
For large families, 100% is covered. a measure that also applies to single-parent families and women victims of gender violence who meet the rest of the requirements of the call.
2023
In 2023, 293 scholarships were given with 1,171 months covered, which means that 88 percent of the aid requested was finally approved and aimed at facilitating conciliation, as well as the labor or training integration of parents, ensuring adequate attention to their children.

The centers participating in the municipal scholarship program are: Bellavista, Charco, Colorín Colorado, María Reina Inmaculada, Parayas Candina, Haypo, Chiquitín PCTCAN, La Anunciación, La Encina, Madre Mercedes, Niño Jesús, Piccola, Marqués de Valterra, Ángeles Custodios, Seryo, San José, Esclavas SCJ and Chiquitín Valdenoja.
