On March 11, McDonald’s confirmed plans to temporarily close branded restaurants in Russia from March 14. In total, 62,000 employees are involved in the McDonald’s system in Russia, and about 100,000 more work at suppliers’ enterprises. The company intends to spend up to $50 million a month to support them. Later, a TASS agency source explained that the temporary closure could last an average of 45 days, such a period is required to “solve the problems that have arisen for the company.” The company itself, however, did not name the timing of the resumption of work.
