The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has briefly reopened registrations for the 24h of Le Mans in 2022.
One week after the postponement of the publication of the entrants to the 90th edition to be held on the Circuit de la Sarthe on 11-12 June, another chance is given to those who in the meantime want to send an application.
The French organizers and the FIA World Endurance Championship found themselves in the situation of having to fill the ‘holes’ left by those involved in the unfortunate Russia-Belarus-Ukraine affair.
In this regard, today G-Drive Racing has withdrawn its cars from the Endurance World Championship and from the transalpine race, shortcomings that are added to the absence of the two new Peugeot 9X8 Hypercars still without homologation.
Therefore, from 3.00 pm today and until 3.00 pm on Wednesday 9 March, teams and drivers will be able to compile and send the necessary documentation to the selection committee.

“The 90th edition of the 24h of Le Mans – round three of the FIA World Endurance Championship – will take place on 11-12 June 2022. The list of 62 cars and guests to compete at the event, which should have been published last week , will be announced later “, explains the official note.
“The recent measures adopted by international sporting governments following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have also affected motorsport teams and drivers.”
“The Selection Committee has therefore decided to invite anyone wishing to send new documentation for the 2022 tender, to do so for a limited period of 48 hours”.
“Candidates must file their applications in due form and in accordance with the required conditions starting at 3pm on Monday 7 March until 3pm on Wednesday 9 March”.
Meanwhile, there are already those who have come forward: the Glickenhaus has announced that if anyone wants, there is a third 007 LMH available.
