There will not be a third Glickenhaus in the Hypercar Class at this year’s 24h of Le Mans.
After the reopening of registrations (ending at 15.00 today) by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the American team had shown the possibility to any customer of being able to attend the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship .
Despite some offers arrived, Jim Glickenhaus’s team eventually had to give up on the idea because the time available to build another 007 LMH in time for the June 11-12 event is not materially available.
On the other hand, a relaunch of the proposal for 2023 took place, specifying that a car to give the assault to absolute success on the Circuit de la Sarthe costs 2.5 million euros, to which another 2 million must be added for spare parts, with guaranteed on-site assistance by the team.

“As many of you know, we had offered a third Glickenhaus 007 LMH for Le Mans 2022 and we have received interesting and serious offers from several qualified teams”, explains the official note issued by the Stars and Stripes team.
“Unfortunately with only 48 hours to complete the registration and the difficulties in building another 007 LMH in time for practice and the race in June, this was no longer possible.”
“But we want to give everyone a little more time, so we offer you a 007 LMH and a 007S for 2023. The conditions for the Hypercar are that you have to register for the entire FIA WEC season.”
As mentioned, the Glickenhaus 007S is also offered, which is the reference road model of the Hypercar. Its cost is $ 2.87 million.
“We have started building our 007S, a model limited to 24 units (the real number that will not grow to 40 and then become 400).
