The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has finally published the list of entrants for the 24h of Le Mans 2022.
There will always be 62 participants in the 90th edition of the French classic, valid as the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The entry-list arrives almost two weeks late, after the war in Ukraine and the consequent FIA measures prompted the organization to reopen registrations for two days.
So let’s see what will be all the protagonists of the event scheduled for 11-12 June.

HYPERCAR
After the withdrawal of Peugeot, the Hypercar category features the same competitors we had seen in 2021, namely the two Toyota, the Alpine LMP1 of Team Signatech and the pair from Glickenhaus.
As we had reported on Wednesday, the latter team had tried to find a buyer-financier for a third 007 LMH, an idea that was wiped out due to lack of time in the construction of the car.
For the moment # 708 sees Olivier Pla / Romain Dumas / Pipo Derani at the wheel, while Ryan Briscoe / Richard Westbrook / Franck Mailleux are destined for # 709, although team principal Jim Glickenhaus has repeatedly said that the crews’ choices will come made after the 6h of Spa-Francorchamps in May.

LMP2
On the other hand, 27 cars will compete for leadership in the LMP2 Class, all Oreca 07-Gibson except one Ligier from CD Sport.
This is one of the teams invited together with DKR Enginnering, TDS Racing x Vaillante, Duqueine, WRT (with a third car), Cool Racing, Graff Racing, Inter Europol Competition, Algarve Pro Racing, Idec Sport and Panis Racing, some deserving of a place for achievements in IMSA, ALMS and ELMS.
All the others come from the FIA WEC being busy throughout the season, but it should be noted that the APR has in fact taken the double place of G-Drive Racing, which as known prefers to call itself out rather than sign the FIA document and take the distance from the shameful war that Russia has waged in recent weeks.
René Binder / James Allen / Steven Thomas (# 45) and Sophia Florsch / John Falb / TBA (# 47) are the crews chosen by the Portuguese team, in search of the sixth and final competitor.
Both cars are in Pro / Am Class, in which we also have ARC, AF Corse, Ultimate, Graff, CD Sport, Nielsen, TDS and DKR.

LMGTE PRO
Settebello ready to battle between the GTEs of the PRO category. While waiting to understand who will be the third drivers of the formations, confirmed the two AF Corse Ferraris, which will have to deal with the two Corvettes and the pair of Porsches.
Antonio Garcia / Jordan Taylor / Nicky Catsburg (# 63) and Tommy Milner / Nick Tandy / Alexander Sims (# 64) will climb the C8.Rs managed by Pratt & Miller.
On Team Manthey’s 911s, Frédéric Makowiecki (with Bruni / Lietz in # 91) and Laurens Vanthoor (together with Christensen / Estre in # 92) are added to the season holders.
Added to these are the guys from Riley Motorsports, who line up a Ferrari with # 74 for Felipe Fraga / Sam Bird / Shane Van Gisbergen.

LMGTE AM
As always, another large group is that of the LMGTE Am Class, where 23 will play for the primacy.
In addition to the usual FIA WEC participants, the novelties are represented by Spirit of Race, Kessel Racing-CarGuy, Inception, JMW, plus further additions for AF Corse (# 61) and Iron Lynx (# 75 and # 80) armed with Ferraris.
With the Porsches come WeatherTech Racing, Proton Competition and Hardpoint.

RESERVES
As usual, there are also the possible takeover teams to consider in case someone were to retire.
First place would go to High Class Racing with LMP2 Pro / Am’s Oreca # 49, followed by Rinaldi Racing’s Ferrari LMGTE Am (# 488) and Racing Team Nederland’s LMP2 Pro / Am (# 29.
Absolute Racing (Porsche # 18 LMGTE Am), TF Sport (Aston Martin # 95 LMGTE Am) and High Class Racing (LMP2 Pro / AM # 20) follow for a total of 6 cars currently on the bench.
