An accident at the penultimate corner (the Fords) it cost Max Verstappen his retirement and to the rest of the crew of the Oreca # 123 of the Red Line team the withdrawal from the virtual 24 hours of Le Mans. The Red Bull driver was leading the race and was almost at the end of a long stint behind the wheel when he was the protagonist of an accident in which a wheel of the car came off.
The return to the pits was not enough to repair the damage reported in the accident and so after eight hours of racing the virtual 24 hours of Le Mans ended prematurely for the 1997-class driver, for whom sim-racing has always been a simple hobby.
Sadly @ Max33Verstappen and the # 123 @TeamRedlineSim Oreca is out of the race.
Too much damage after a crash has meant he cannot continue😔#LeMansVirtual pic.twitter.com/q8u0AJMvhf

Verstappen yesterday in qualifying was close to pole position by two thousandths and until the accident he was having a great race together with fellow crew members Felix Rosenqvist, Maximilian Benecke and Atze Kerkhof.
