Images of the new BMW i3 have leaked from China. That is no longer a monocab, but an electric 3 Series. The Chinese version would be officially presented in 2022, the timing of the European BMW i3 remains a mystery. We do know that the BMW 3 Series is getting a facelift, a so-called LCI (Life Cycle Improvement).
Driving range?
Spectacular are the leaked images of the Chinese BMW i3. The adjustments compared to the 3 Series run parallel to those of the BMW iX3 compared to the X3: air resistance-reducing aero rims, some blue design keys and a fitted radiator grille. Small in size, unlike the kidneys of the electric BMW i4 Gran Coupé.
According to the leaked information, the electric BMW i3 takes over the specifications of the rear-wheel drive i4 eDrive40, with a peak power of 340 hp and a combined maximum torque of 430 Nm. That should be enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds, the top speed is limited to 190 km/h. The battery pack has a capacity of 84 kWh and promises a driving range of almost 500 kilometers.
