The long-awaited top version of the Tesla Model S will not come after all. So says Elon Musk on the social media platform Twitter;
“Plaid+ has been cancelled. Not necessary, because the Plaid is good enough.” With those words, Elon Musk announced that the long-awaited top version of the recently heavily facelifted Tesla Model S was scrapped. The CEO of the electric car manufacturer did not do this via a classic press release, but on the social media platform Twitter. However, the message is clear: the fast Plaid version of the Tesla Model S would be so good that an even faster Plaid+ would actually be superfluous.
And there is something to be said for that. The Tesla Model S Plaid relies on three electric motors with a system output of 1,020 hp, sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 322 km/h. The WLTP range would be approximately 625 kilometers. Even the Porsche Taycan Turbo S has no recourse against those impressive figures. Well, it remains to be seen until June 10, the day on which the Tesla Model S Plaid is officially presented. There is a Belgian price tag: 119,990 euros.
