It seemed that the predictions had not hit this Saturday when a strong waterspout discharged over the Region of Murcia, causing some minor incidents. The Aemet had established a yellow warning due to the possibility that the storm that was going to affect the Community would leave heavy rains, which could be accompanied by hail. And from eight o’clock in the afternoon the sky began to discharge strongly, leaving several liters in just a few minutes.
The storm forced the emergency services to act on 44 incidents, none of them serious. Of these, 17 had to do with the removal of obstacles on the road, 10 due to drainage of water in the basements and basements of houses and six rescues of people trapped in their vehicles by the water. The majority of incidents, 13, were registered in Yecla, while 10 were in Molina de Segura, five in Jumilla, another five in Murcia, two in Caravaca de la Cruz and another two in Moralla.
In Yecla, the storm was accompanied by strong winds that caused the tables and chairs on the terraces located in the Plaza San Cayetano to fly through the air, causing customers to run for cover.
