Border Dispute: PM Modi Meets Jinping, Both Countries Agree For Next Round of Talks


After the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the BRICS Summit in Brazil, an official statement came up stating that the two countries are ready for further talks on the issue of the border dispute.

The 21st round of talks on the issue of the border dispute between India and China was held in November last year when National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and his counterpart and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in China.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Jinping stated: “there will be another meeting of Special Representatives on matters related to the border and they reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and security in the border areas”.
