A Trigg survey shows that most respondents aim to readjust their consumption habits
Survey carried out by fintech trigger shows that 20% of Brazilians intend to make fewer purchases this year. In 2022, 95% of consumers intended to spend more, up from 75% of respondents in 2023.
The survey indicates that the motivations for reducing consumption this year are: changing consumption habits (13%), the need to save (8%) and insecurity regarding the political scenario in Brazil (7%).
More than 4,000 people were interviewed between February 7th and 14th. Of the total, 76% are between 25 and 46 years old, and 68% said they were parents.
The consumption priorities for 2023 were defined in:
- food (58%);
- education (37%);
- health (34%).
“About the next major consumption peaks, the vast majority intend to spend more on Mother’s Day, followed by Easter”he told Trigg.
In addition, 52% of respondents said they would prefer online shopping. Percentage is practically tied with those who prefer to go to stores in person (48%).
Brazilians also highlighted that the main form of payment for purchases will be with a credit card (85%). Although the percentage is high, there was a 10% drop in relation to respondents in 2022.
Pix increased as a payment preference, rising from 2% (2022) to 9% (2023).
