The last period witnessed several camps for the team, under the leadership of national coach Qassem Ashour, during which he focused on improving the players’ fitness rates and postponing the technical aspect of the upcoming camps.
Qassem Ashour, coach of the team, confirmed that the team’s preparations for the Asian Championship are constantly continuing to come out in the best way, in order to honor the UAE handball in this Asian forum, noting that he is focusing during the current period on supporting the level of players physically and technically due to the importance of the qualifying tournament in turn for the World Cup.
He added: During the last period, the players showed great enthusiasm in the training, and the preparation was supposed to start a long time ago, but the conditions of the Corona pandemic prevented that, and with life returning to normal, we started preparations, and worked to create a state of homogeneity between the players. Regarding the possibility of setting up external camps during the coming period before the Asian Championship, Ashour stressed that the matter is subject to the approval of the Federation, and the camp may be in Macedonia, Slovenia or Egypt.
He pointed out that handball for juniors needs more support in order to attract new elements, in order to be a tributary to the first team in the coming years, explaining that clubs have a major role in preparing players by discovering and qualifying new talents.
