Dubai (Etihad)
The axes of the Asian Confederation of Video Assistant Referees (VAR) tournament organized by the Asian Confederation in cooperation with the Football Association for the period from October 23 to November 1 were launched in Dubai, with the participation of 11 referees from nine national federations: the UAE, Australia, India, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Myanmar, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
In his opening speech to the activities of the session, Muhammad Omar Al-Shammari, Vice-Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Football Association, welcomed the AFC lecturers and the participating referees, wishing everyone to benefit from the lectures that will be held over ten days.
He stressed that the Referees Committee of the Football Association is keen to increase the experiences of all members of the UAE arbitration system through training courses and workshops hosted and organized in cooperation with the International and Asian Football Federations, in light of the great support that football referees enjoy from the Board of Directors, which aims to develop and continue the presence of Emirati referee in continental and international tournaments.
The course’s axes will be presented by a group of Asian lecturers, led by Saudi Ali Al-Tarifi, Malaysian Weda Shamsuri, and Australian Anas Hakan.
International Wisdom Kholoud Al Zaabi, who was chosen earlier in the list of female referees to manage the 2023 Women’s World Cup matches scheduled in Australia and New Zealand, will participate in the session as a video referee.
