In Canada, a former nurse celebrated her 101st birthday and revealed the secret of her longevity. About it informs Sudbury.com.
Gertrude Fredette of Sudbury, Ontario celebrated the landmark date on Tuesday, November 9th. A year ago, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a woman had to celebrate her 100th anniversary alone, communicating with her family via video link. In 2021, the long-liver was able to meet with relatives and celebrate her birthday in a restaurant.
Despite his venerable age, Fredette is in excellent physical shape and mood. She cited abstinence from smoking, a healthy diet, regular intake of vitamins, and a love of dancing and sports as the reasons for her longevity.
The woman worked as a nurse all her life. In addition, together with her husband, she was engaged in horse breeding on her own farm. Now Fredette has 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The pensioner recalls her past years with pleasure. “If I lived poorly, I would not be here,” she joked.
Earlier, a former school cafeteria worker from the UK celebrated her 105th birthday and shared the secret of longevity. She believes that she lived this long because she led a healthy lifestyle and ate healthy food.
