Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli continue to dictate the law at the 1000 Miglia. Even in the 2024 edition of this historic race the two accomplished what we can now define as the usual: for the fourth time in a row they became champions, aboard their Alfa Romeo 6c 1750 Ss Spider Zagato from 1929.
The winners of the 1000 Miglia 2024
The organizers themselves defined this achievement “a record that will be difficult to match in the future”. “We are happy, how could we not be! – said Andrea Vesco, one of the two winners – We are preparing to do great things and we are happy because this year we have been in front since the first test and have always maintained the advantage. We have achieved great results and now we enjoy this victory.”
All competitors on the podium
Behind the undisputed winners, Gianmario Fontanella and Anna Maria Covelli won second place with their 1927 Lancia Lambda Casaro VII Serie, followed by Alberto Aliverti and Stefano Valente, also competing with a 1929 6C. They won the Ferrari Tribute instead Frank Binder and Giordano Mozzi with a 296 GTS, second Celestino and Antonio Sangiovanni on an 812 GTS, completing the podium was Gianluigi and Federico Smussi on a 1996 F355 GTS. Final mention for the 1000 Miglia Green and the 1000 Miglia Experience: Mirco Magni and Alessandro Ferruta triumphed with a Polestar 2 in the first, while the second went to Ismaele and Marco Luigi Ghilardelli in a Mercedes AMG GT C.
The most beautiful race in the world
In 2024, the Mille Miglia tour the force covered a distance of 2,200 kilometers: 421 crews competing this year, all aboard vintage jewels on wheels built between 1927 and 1957 that traveled the classic route from Brescia to Rome and back counterclockwise, exactly as in the case of the first editions of the 1000 Miglia speed race. Turin hosted the stage finishes, the first time in history for the Piedmontese capital, then Viareggio, Rome and San Lazzaro di Savena, before returning to Brescia with the last catwalk from the platform of Viale Venezia.
