Ciudad Juárez.- The ten properties that the Municipality has been awarded in the auctions due to non-payment of the Property Tax are already recorded in the Public Property Registry and what to do with them will be analyzed because they cannot be sold, said Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar.
“They have already been registered in the Public Property Registry, now the next stage is coming, this is what we are reviewing (what to do with them), we have not yet made a decision, but at least we have already achieved the registration, which was what took the longest, even longer than the process,” he declared.
He added that the embargo processes continue and much progress has been made.
“It’s a lot of work, the truth is that a lot of progress has been made, and now we are being more efficient because there is already a long way to go,” explained Pérez Cuéllar.
Among those properties that the Municipality was awarded is the old Dorado cinema, located on Lerdo Street almost on the corner of 16 de Septiembre, a property that will be used to expand the parking lot of the Juárez Municipal Parking Operator (OMEJ) of Lerdo, which It is located on the side.
“We are negotiating the Treasury with the OMEJ to see the terms, but we continue with the same project of expanding that parking lot, we are in the process, as it is a decentralized one,” Cruz mentioned.
He added that he hopes that next year the project to expand that parking lot can be carried out.
In accordance with articles 220, 221 and 223 of the Tax Code for the State of Chihuahua, in these processes the properties are awarded in favor of the Municipality in the event that there are no bidders.
The properties that the Municipality has kept are located in the Central area, Melchor Ocampo, Bellavista, Monterrey neighborhoods and Las Gladiolas subdivision, it was reported. (Araly Castañón)
